Have you ever done 200 pushups while running two miles at a 6:30 pace? We did, and it was AWESOME!
For the last three Wednesdays, a group has come together at the Max Muscle Papillion store to go through a lower body workout. And it's still intense! Pushing ourselves to our limits is allowing us to identify weaknesses and develop strategies to achieve our racing goals. Informed with this knowledge, we are now ready to work toward achieving our future goals. One of those goals is to enter an upcoming race and set a PR!
Wednesday August 3, we're going to run a measured 5K course to see “where we are”. We're going to record these times and compare them to our times at an upcoming 5K race in September! We have several races to choose from and will decide this Wednesday.
Come with a positive attitude, a desire to succeed and leave with some information, some new acquaintances and a completely exhausted lower body!
No hills this Wednesday. No pushups. Just flat-out running!! Be at the store at 8pm and be ready to go!
Music, water and samples of recovery drinks will be provided.

The initial reaction has carried through the second week. "This was intense!" Pushing ourselves to our limits is allowing us to identify weaknesses and develop future workouts! Informed with this knowledge, we are now ready to work toward achieving our future goals. One of those goals is to enter an upcoming race and set a PR!
Wednesday July 27th, we're going to focus on breathing. Ever feel like a mule is sitting on your chest at the end of a race? How do you finish strong? Wednesday, we're going to put a mule on everybody's chest and finish strong! We'll get started again at 8pm from the parking lot of the Max Muscle/Papillion store. This workout will be intense, fast-paced and FUN!
Come with a positive attitude, a desire to succeed and leave with some information, some new acquaintances and a completely exhausted lower body!
No hills this Wednesday. Just a flat track and a lot of heavy breathing! You'll be happy to know that this is a very short 2 mile run. …with a few exercises mixed in! You will also be happy to know that I have agreed not to spill any post-workout drinks on anyone this week.
However, don't expect to leave dry. If you don't like to sweat, these workouts aren't for you! If you have a watch, bring it this week.

Informed with this knowledge, we are now ready to work toward achieving our future goals.
Wednesday July 20th, plan to attend another workout designed to increase your leg strength, your endurance and your speed. We’ll get started again at 8pm from the parking lot of the Max Muscle/Papillion store.
This workout will be intense, fast-paced and FUN!
Come with a positive attitude, a desire to succeed and leave with some information, some new acquaintances and a completely exhausted lower body!
Wednesday’s workout will include lots of hills and lots of sweat!
We’ll look at your hill climbing form and offer suggestions to make you a faster climber while retaining your energy for the duration of the race.
Developing these muscles and refining your form will help you maintain an average running pace through the course of an event allowing you to finish with the time you’re gunning for!
