Beat The Bloat - The Benefits of Fiber

Since having my three kids, I have noticed a consistent problem for myself. I get easily bloated, to the point of being completely uncomfortable and feeling as though I weigh 5-10 pounds heavier than my true weight. I know I am not alone in this plight, but what are we to do?

I talked with one of Max Muscle’s Certified Nutritionists about all the bloating I was experiencing, and he explained to me the benefits of psyllium husk. It is a powdered fiber supplement that can be easily mixed into your protein shake at any time of the day. I thought that I was already getting enough fiber in my diet, but through my conversation with one of Max Muscle’s Certified Nutritionists, realized that I need 20-40 grams a day. This fiber supplement aids in colon function, to help regulate my body’s colon and intestinal activity.

By promoting proper regularity, it helps my body’s natural regulation of water and has provided a solution to my bloating.

It also helps with cholesterol levels, and aids in the absorption of a protein shake by slowing its digestion. By slowing the shake’s digestion the protein stays in my body longer, causing me to feel fuller longer, and helping to curb unwanted "munching" throughout the day.

Obviously, this kind of fiber consumption is not easy to achieve through eating whole foods. Luckily, psyllium husk makes it cheap and easy to achieve proper intake.

All I wanted was something to help the bloat go away, but I found a supplement that gives me so much more. Simply pouring a little psyllium husk in my protein each morning for breakfast allows me to reap the benefits the rest of the day. Are you getting enough fiber in your diet? Stop into your local Max Muscle, and ask one of our certified nutritionist how psyllium husk can help you reach your goals.

The Unexpected Benefits of Glutamine For Your Skin

We have discussed the benefits of glutamine in terms of improving muscular recovery. However, the healing benefits you get from glutamine come from about 20% of the amount you ingest. What does your body do with the other 80% that you swallowed? Quite a bit actually.

Glutamine is a non-essential amino acid that is an important fuel source for cells of the immune system and cells that line the inner wall of the intestines. It is the most abundant amino acid found in the body and is involved in energy metabolism more than any other.

It is also a precursor to glutathione. Glutathione is a very powerful anti-oxidant and helps keep cell function running smoothly. Without glutathione other important anti-oxidants such as vitamins C and E cannot do their job adequately to protect your body from disease. Because all other antioxidants depend upon the presence of glutathione to function properly, Scientists call it "the master antioxidant".

Antioxidants are essential in ridding the body of free radicals. Free radicals attack healthy cells and cause skin damage and premature aging.

Unfortunately, when we exercise our body produces free radicals as a reaction to the physical stress we are undergoing. If our goal is to exercise to look better than we should really make it a point to supplement with Glutamine.

As a glutathione precursor, it will destroy free radicals helping us to not only feel better, but look better as well. The absence of free-radicals produces noticeable improvements in the health and quality of hair, skin, and nails. Those three things are truly an exterior representation of our interior health. Stop into a Max Muscle to learn more about Glutamine and start changing your body from the inside out.
